The PF Classic strain is a notable variety of Psilocybe cubensis, developed by mycologist Robert McPherson, known by his pseudonym Psilocybe Fanaticus (PF). Introduced in the early 1990s, this strain was designed to complement the PF-Tek cultivation method, which McPherson also pioneered.
PF Classic mushrooms typically exhibit medium to large fruiting bodies. The caps are initially bell-shaped, flattening as they mature, and often display a golden-brown hue with white, wart-like spots. The stems are thick, white, and wavy, contributing to their distinctive appearance.
This strain is considered to have average potency, with a total tryptamine content around 0.67%. Users can expect a psychedelic experience, though larger quantities may be needed to achieve more intense effects.
PF Classic is renowned for its ease of cultivation, especially when using the PF-Tek method. It matures slowly, allowing harvest a day or two after the veil breaks without significant spore release, which helps maintain a clean growing environment.
Overall, the PF Classic strain holds historical significance in the mycology community and remains a popular choice for both novice and experienced cultivators.

Frequently Asked Questions
A Mushroom Spore Print is the first (or last!?) stage in the reproductive lifecycle of a fungus! Once a mushroom fruiting body has reached maturiy, the cap is separated from the stipe and placed on aluminum foil. After some time, the gills will release the spores held on the basidium, and they will fall to the foil!
